Centro de Estudios Fenicios y Púnicos

El 23 de Diciembre de 1997 se creó el Centro de Estudios Fenicios y Púnicos, cuya sede en la actualidad se establece en el Departamento de Historia Antigua de la Facultad de Geografía e Historia de la Universidad Complutense de Madrid.
Su creación se produce ante la necesidad de generar una plataforma científica de intercambio que ponga en relación los esfuerzos que investigadores, individualmente unos y agrupados en centros de investigación otros, vienen desarrollando en torno a la civilización Fenicio-Púnica.
Sus objetivos son por lo tanto paliar esta situación y potenciar y promover el desarrollo de la investigación relacionados con este campo, así como su divulgación científica.
Así mismo, se potenciarán las relaciones internacionales (comunitarias y extracomunitarias) con investigadores pertenecientes a Universidades, Centros o Asociaciones Científicas y en su momento se contribuirá a la creación de un Instituto Interdisciplinar Universitario de Estudios Fenicios y Púnicos en la Unión Europea, habiéndose concluido acuerdos de colaboración científica con el Instituto Arqueológico Alemán (Madrid), el Instituto Nacional del Patrimonio (Túnez), La Universidad de Sevilla y El Centro de Estudios Libaneses (Buenos Aires).

Ten years of new excavations and research at Mozia (2002-2011)

Please note that February 24 at 9 am, at the G. Whitaker Foundation in Palermo, there will be the tenth edition of the Motya Conference in memory of Antonia Ciasca, entitled "Ten years of new excavations and research at Mozia (2002-2011)".
The results of the 2011 excavations at Mozia (Sicily) will be showed with the presentation of the archaeological work in progress at Ugarit (Valerie Matoïan) and Beirut (es-Assaad Seif). The conference program is available in attachment. The event will be live on the website of the Archaeological Mission to Mozia.
